Bruce Markets has announced plans to introduce continuous weekend trading in US equities, potentially establishing the first round-the-clock, seven-day trading environment for US stocks, subject to regulatory review.
The expansion is backed by strategic investments from PEAK6 Investments, Bruce Markets’ majority shareholder, and Robinhood Markets. Existing investors include Apex Fintech Solutions, Fidelity Investments, Nasdaq Ventures, NH Investment & Securities, tastytrade and Webull.
Bruce Markets, which operates the SEC-registered Bruce ATS, will expand its use of Nasdaq’s trading technology to support the additional sessions. Apex Clearing Corporation will provide clearing, carrying and custody services.
The new weekend trading session is expected to launch in the coming months, extending access beyond existing overnight and weekday trading hours.
The initiative would allow participating brokers, including Robinhood, to offer customers continuous access to US equities, reflecting growing demand for trading infrastructure capable of operating beyond traditional market hours.
