Broadridge Financial Solutions today announced that BNP Paribas Fund Services Australasia Pty has signed a multi-year agreement to use Broadridge’s Global Proxy processing services for its clients in the Australasia region.

BNP Paribas, already a user of Broadridge’s proxy processing services through its France-headquartered global securities services business, has now agreed to use the Broadridge service for the institutional clients of its Australia-based securities services division. This will enable BNP Paribas to offer its clients a consistent international model based on Broadridge’s proven and trusted service.

Through the Broadridge service, BNP Paribas and its Australasian clients will be able to benefit from a fully-automated, electronic voting service which supports straight-through processing from account collection and agenda distribution, through to vote processing across a comprehensive range of international markets. For meetings in Australia and New Zealand, Broadridge will also collate votes for BNP Paribas and send them to local registries for vote execution.

“Broadridge brings world class proxy voting technology and services to BNP Paribas and its clients, combined with an unsurpassed level of domain expertise in the field of global proxy processing,” said Luc Vassort, head of operations, BNP Paribas Fund Services Australasia. “We’ve been particularly impressed by Broadridge’s exceptional focus on service standards and its client-centric approach to delivering on time and to budget through a highly professional, low-risk conversion process.”

“We are extremely pleased to further extend our relationship with BNP Paribas through this strategic agreement to support the firm and its clients across Australasia,” said James O’Regan, general manager, Investor Communication Solutions, International, Broadridge. “Australia is a strategic market for our solutions and services, and we are fully committed to advancing the provision of shareholder communications domestically, regionally and internationally.”
