Xenomorph Adds IDC Data Services To TimeScape Management System

Xenomorph is to make Interactive Data’s Pricing & Reference Data services available to users of its TimeScape multi-asset data management and analysis software platform. The two recently concluded discussions that have been ongoing since last autumn, and Xenomorph is now prioritizing the addition of Interactive Data’s services according to client requirements.

Under the deal, users of Xenomorph’s TimeScape will be able to manage and analyse pricing, reference and corporate actions data from Interactive Data, in support of applications used by traders, analysts and risk managers.

“We originally started talking to Xenomorph in the fall of 2006 and have recently concluded discussions to make our pricing and reference data available to them,” says Marty Williams, vice president of institutional data delivery business at Interactive Data Pricing & Reference Data. “All that remains is for them to prioritise the data that they want to make available to their clients.”

Once that decision has been made, Xenomorph clients will be able to access a range of Interactive Data pricing and reference data services, including terms and conditions data, as well fixed income, equity and derivatives pricing. They may also access Interactive Data’s evaluated pricing data and its corporate actions data – including the recently acquired Xcitek market data.

The two companies have developed an interface to TimeScape that is designed to provide Xenomorph’s customers with direct access to Interactive Data’s reference data for more than 3.5 million global securities. This enables Xenomorph to deliver an expanded dataset to support their customers’ data management and analysis activities.

For Interactive Data, meanwhile, the relationship “helps us to distribute our data to the end customer via yet another outlet,” says Williams. “Partnering with third party vendors helps us to provide our services through more channels and gives the client a greater choice of how they access and utilise that data. I envision that this relationship will deliver a value-added platform for data management needs with the added benefit of a broad range of our data. You could say that Xenomorph provides the vehicle and Interactive Data provides the fuel that drives it. Our ongoing relationship with Xenomorph will enable them to expand the use of our data as and when they require it, according to client demand and market developments.”

Williams describes the tie-in with Xenomorph as “similar to those we have with many third party software and application vendors. We spend a lot of time helping vendors to understand our product and data availability, working together to iron out the details of what is required to build a standard data interface between our services and the vendor’s applications.”
