Talking Reference Data with Andrew Delaney: It’s Hot in New York

Subscribe to our newsletter

The New York Hilton is not best known for its air conditioning, and with temperatures threatening to hit 97 degrees Fahrenheit the second day of the Sifma Tech leaders conference promises to be challenging.

It’s a busy and hot New York week. We kicked it off with some client meetings Monday, followed by the ubiquitous Brits on the Street networking session at Connolly’s in the evening. Then it was Sifma in earnest and, as I write, preparations for an FISD session Thursday.

You can’t get better value than that.

While Sifma is generally more oriented toward our low latency coverage, time spent on A-Team’s booth at the show has been well rewarded. We’ve run into many old friends – this is my 23rd Sifma show, believe it or not – and met some new ones. While the numbers are down from recent years, this has been a quality play. We’re meeting some great people.

At the halfway point through the show, we’ve managed to have constructive discussion with senior executives from the likes of Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, Markit, DTCC, GoldenSource, SunGard, Standard & Poor’s, Xenomorph, SIX Financial and a host of banks. Hot topics include corporate actions, legal entity identifiers and enterprise data management.

As part of our revamp of our A-Team sites we’ve relaunched www.A-Teamgroup.com, making it more user friendly and, we hope, useful. The rebranding – with snazzy new logos – is tied in with our booth design. Combined with our recently relaunched ReferenceDataReview.com site, we think we’ve introduced a fresher feel that’s easier to navigate and helps you derive more value from our content. Let us know what you think.

Finally, if you’re at the show as you read this, please stop by our booth and say hello. We’re around all day.
