S&P Global Market Intelligence Adds Onboarding Accelerator to Securities Finance Platform

S&P Global Market Intelligence has integrated the Onboarding Accelerator tool into its securities finance platform. The onboarding solution was initially developed by IHS Markit, which S&P Global acquired in a $44 billion merger completed in March 2022.

The Onboarding Accelerator is an automated solution designed to challenge the inefficiencies of manual processes used by borrowers and lenders when onboarding new lenders and accounts, and deliver improved transparency and efficiency.

It includes portfolio assessment reports that identify potential lending revenues and asset qualities in a portfolio, as well as Portfolio Assessment Report (PAR), which allows the front office and business management to evaluate portfolios and select accounts for prioritisation.

At a functional level, the onboarding tool will help users specify documentation requirements, request additional data and raise questions within the platform, submit to multiple brokers with the ability to mask any critical account information from specific front-office functions, and backfill historical accounts to acquire a single source copy of all accounts.

Kabin George, global head of securities finance product management at S&P Global Market Intelligence, says: “This automated onboarding solution will enhance efficiencies and improve client experience by allowing users to exchange, view and update documents while monitoring the status of the process from initiation through to execution.”
