Solix Technologies Partners with Oracle to Embed EDMS in Flexcube

EDM vendor Solix Technologies has entered into a global partner agreement with Oracle Financial Services Software, under which Oracle will offer Solix EDMS as embedded functionality in Oracle Flexcube. The combined solution is aimed at automating archive and purge processes by classifying data, configuring and executing archiving and data migration routines, explains Shekhar Dasgupta, president and chief operating officer of Solix.

The partnership with the majority owned subsidiary of Oracle Corporation is part of the vendor’s channel strategy, says Dasgupta. He explains that Solix selected Oracle because of its brand and hopes its reputation will allow it access to the larger financial institutions in the market.

Joseph John, executive vice president of banking products at Oracle Financial Services Software, explains that the attraction for Oracle was the ability to offer archiving functionality to its Flexcube customers. This will help ensure that data remains secure giving Oracle Flexcube customers greater control over enterprise data, he says. This coupled with the ability to retain real-time historical data is expected to deliver added value to Oracle Flexcube customers, helping them comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

Other benefits that the vendors claim will result from the integration include improved system performance and response times by keeping the Flexcube database as slim as possible by reducing the amount of data in the application database.

These sorts of partnerships are springing up across the vendor community as smaller niche vendors attempt to broaden their client reach and larger vendors extend their functionality.
