Mergent, now owned by China’s Xinhua Finance, has introduced two new products EventsData and BondSource. EventsData provides unified web-based access to a combination of global corporate actions data across Mergent’s multiple databases. The corporate actions covered include mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcies, securities listings and delistings, EPS updates, liquidations, stock splits and reverse stock splits, spin-offs, redemptions, reorganizations, ticker symbol changes and more. The service incorporates the Historical Securities Database (HSD), a 30-year database of end-of-day equities pricing acquired by Mergent from Capco Reference Data Services last August. The data is also available via an intraday datafeed. BondSource provides fixed income data and evaluation services covering 160,000 taxable bonds and 1.2 million municipal securities. Both services are targeted at hedge funds and financial institutions.
