Japanese XML and information management software vendor JustSystems and Edgar Online have signed a strategic alliance to deliver XBRL to financial institutions’ desktops. Through the new partnership, JustSystems will deliver certain of Edgar Online’s XBRL tagged data to their subscribers through the xfy XBRL viewer platform.

Edgar Online provides SEC filings in real-time on the internet and is focused on delivering XBRL data, products and solutions to the marketplace. The xfy XBRL viewer platform provides a rendering and visualisation solution for filers, preparers, auditors, regulators, and institutional and individual investors to comply with the XBRL standard.

Sue Bratone Childs, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, Edgar Online, explains the driver behind the partnership: “The benefit of Edgar Online and JustSystems joining forces is that organisations can now view select comparable financial data in an interactive format right at their fingertips. We are making it much easier for organisations to perform variance analysis, benchmarking, valuation and other forms of financial review. As XBRL is implemented across the world, and expected to be mandated by the SEC, all those who work with financial information should realise the benefits of working with XBRL tagged information.”

Diane Mueller, vice president of XBRL development for JustSystems, adds: “Organisations can rest assured that each line item in their document is accurate, and at the same time, experience rich rendering and visualisation of multi-dimensional XBRL data.”
