Joss Adds SIX Corporate Actions Data to Entity Data Management System and Prepares for LEI

Joss Technology, a software solutions provider dedicated to entity data, has added SIX Financial Information’s entity level corporate actions data to its Entity Data Management System (EDMS).

The EDMS platform is a response to emerging regulatory requirements in financial markets for entity data, such as legal entity identifiers (LEIs), rather than security data, and is designed to help financial institutions integrate records from disparate systems and maintain accurate entity data. The addition of SIX Financial Information’s corporate actions data through an interface to EDMS supports the automatic update of entity data held by users on the data management system.

According to Olivier Schlatter, co-founder and managing director of Joss Technology, “The workflow tools in EDMS, including corporate actions automation, ensure that the golden copy of an institution’s entity data is properly maintained. But the reality is that issuer level notifications are not widely available, so the fact that SIX Financial Information’s high quality, global entity corporate actions data is available on the platform is a tremendous added value.”

Jason McCann, strategic business development manager for SIX US, adds: “Most data management platforms we work with do not operate at the issuer level. Given the requirements set forth by regulators in the US and Europe, EDMS seems to be the right solution at the right time to meet the entity data management challenges facing global financial institutions.”

Both the EDMS and access to SIX Financial Information’s corporate actions data feed are available immediately. The SIX Financial Information connection adds to other interfaces to entity data provided by mainstream data vendors, as well as plug and play connectors for various datasets from vendors including Bloomberg, Interactive Data, Avox, Counterparty Link, Exchange Data International and Lexis Nexis. Joss is working with other vendors including S&P Capital IQ and Markit to extend its list of interfaces.

With a focus on entity data, the company is also readying the EDMS for LEIs and provides connectors to all the pre-Local Operating Units that are issuing pre-LEIs in the interim global LEI system.
