ITRS Adds Capacity Planning Capability Through Acquisition of Sumerian

Subscribe to our newsletter

ITRS Group has concluded a nine-month partnership with Sumerian, which developed ITRS Insights Capacity Planning, with the acquisition of the firm. The acquisition combines ITRS’ real-time monitoring software with Sumerian’s predictive capacity analytics to help financial institutions save money on under-used resources, while quantifying business risks and avoiding outages.

The solution takes large-scale data from the ITRS Geneos monitoring tool – and other monitoring tools – and puts it into Sumerian’s predictive analytics engine, which recommends optimisations, uses machine learning to predict future issues, and quantifies business risks through scenario modelling.

Guy Warren, CEO at ITRS, explains: “Customers need to avoid downtime from over-used capacity and save money by spotting under-used resources. Sumerian’s Capacity Planner addresses both of these issues. In many jurisdictions it is a regulatory requirement to be able to report business capacity, including capacity in a disaster recovery fail over situation. Incorporating Sumerian’s application demand modelling will allow ITRS to support these needs.”

The management team of Sumerian will stay with the company, which will be run by CEO Peter Duffy during the integration of Sumerian functionality into appropriate parts of ITRS.
