Exegy, has extended its range of real-time market data feed handlers to help clients exploit the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II (MiFID II) systematic internaliser (SI) regime.
The company’s additional feed handles are for global market maker Virtu Financial’s SI and indications of interest (IOI) data feeds that give users of Exegy’s managed services access to Virtu’s liquidity in European and US equities and exchange traded funds (ETFs). Using the MiFID II SI regime, Virtu will offer bilateral liquidity in European cash equities and ETFs to sell-side firms in Europe. Virtu plans to register as an SI in Europe in 2018 once MiFID II comes into force.
Exegy CEO, James O’Donnell, says: “The addition of SI and IOI feed handlers allows our customers to tap into new opportunities enabled by the MiFID II SI regime.” These feed handlers add to the company’s support for over 200 real-time market data feeds from a range of global execution venues and pricing sources.
Christiaan Scholtes, head of EMEA markets at Virtu, adds: “This is a great example of Exegy’s strategic view on the importance of MiFID II’s transparent SI regime. It is an important step, enabling market makers to provide firm quotes efficiently and transparently to a broader range of market participants.”
