Deutsche Borse Mulls Offering Reference Data Services

Fresh from its acquisition of Clearstream International, Deutsche Borse is considering launching a reference data service to complement its planned corporate actions and new-issue data services. These latter two services will be offered to vendor redistributors, some of which are currently testing the service for German and Luxembourg equities and fixed-income instruments. Deutsche Borse hopes it can wrest business from dominant suppliers like WM DatenServices by offering lower-cost access via the Internet, as well as the opportunity to consolidate data supply from a single entity. The exchange is currently evaluating the costs of establish a reference data service as part of this wider offering.
