Compliance screening and data management specialists, Datanomic, today announced the appointment of Matthew Gaved to its board of directors. As a co-founder and former director of Datanomic, Gaved is a specialist in the field of corporate governance and has conducted extensive research into the role of institutional investors in the control of public companies.

Gaved brings extensive experience as a director of a number of Cambridge-based technology companies. He was co-founder and board director for mobile network devices specialist, Antenova, board director and co-founder of RFID specialists, IDTechEx, board director of optical network switching company, Polatis, as well as board director for medical technology company, Astron Cinica. He has also been non-executive director of a number of smaller companies representing minority shareholder interests. For five years he was the editor of the international newsletter ‘Governance’, and had reports published by the ICAEW, the Conference Board and the OECD. He spent his earlier career in UK and international sales and marketing roles, later working closely with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a member of its monitoring trustee services team. In September 2009 he co-founded CompetitionRx, a specialist provider of monitoring trustee services and remedy advice to companies undertaking mergers and acquisitions in Europe, or subject to state aid agreements with the European Commission.

“As one of the original co-founders of Datanomic, Matthew not only intrinsically understands Datanomic’s value proposition, but he also brings a wealth of valuable insight to our board of directors in the area of governance and scaling the company for domestic and international growth,” said Jonathan Pell, CEO of Datanomic. “We look forward to his insight and industry contribution as Datanomic continues to expand its geographic reach and vertical market penetration throughout 2010.”
