AWS Adds Amazon FinSpace Managed Service Offering Data Management and Preparation for Analytics

Subscribe to our newsletter

AWS has released Amazon FinSpace, a data management and analytics managed service designed to store, catalogue and prepare financial industry data at scale, as well as reduce the time it takes to find and access data for analysis from months to minutes.

FinSpace avoids the heavy lifting of building and maintaining a data management system for financial analytics, and instead automates data collection in a secure data management application and catalogues it by relevant business concepts such as asset class, risk classification, or geographic region. An integrated framework manages data access, audits who is accessing what data and when, tracks data usage, and generates compliance and audit reports.

Data is accessed through the FinSpace web interface, which allows users to search for data using familiar business terms such as ‘S&P500’, ‘CAC40’, and ‘private equity funds in euro’, and prepare chosen datasets using a built-in library of more than 100 specialised functions for time series data, such as time bars and Bollinger bands. They can also integrate functions from their own libraries. The service also offers support for historical data.

FinSpace is initially available in the US East (Northern Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (Oregon), EU (Ireland), and Canada (Central) AWS regions, with availability in additional regions coming soon.
