Archax Introduces Digital Asset Exchange for Institutional Investors

Archax has introduced an institutional-grade digital asset exchange targeted at the professional investment community. The venture is based in London, led by former hedge fund partner Graham Rodford, and advised by former chief strategy officer at the London Stock Exchange Group David Lester.

The exchange aims to provide digital asset trading, including crypto currencies, to the institutional investment community, which is highly regulated and requires exchanges to provide appropriately robust technology infrastructure. Archax has designed the exchange with this in mind and hopes it will help legitimise the digital asset market for institutional investors.

Built using existing, proven, resilient, scalable, high-performance exchange infrastructure and hosted in a top-tier datacentre, the Archax exchange will be operated as if it were regulated to provide the surety and transparency needed by institutional investment companies. Through partnerships with trading system vendors and support for industry standard APIs such as FIX, the exchange can be integrated into existing institutional trading workflow.

David Lester, advisor and non-executive director at Archax, comments: “Tokenisation and blockchains are innovations that have significant potential to open up new business opportunities. Tokens can turn networks into markets, blockchains can enable more frictionless and transparent marketplaces. How this evolves is of real interest to capital providers, business leaders and founders.”

Graham Rodford, CEO of Archax, says: “The current digital asset world is just the beginning and we will increasingly see opportunities emerge as the world realises that all assets can be tokenised. As this occurs, institutions will be looking for a way to realise investment strategies in both new and traditional ways. We have assembled a seasoned team and advisory board that understands the needs of institutions, has a deep understanding of the new tech landscape, and a vision of how to open up existing crypto and other digital assets to institutions.”
