Martin Currie Investment Management Implements CuriumEDM for ESG Data Processes

Subscribe to our newsletter

Martin Currie Investment Management has completed the first phase of implementing Curium Data Systems’ CuriumEDM, which includes a focus on gathering, mastering and quality control of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) data sets.

The investment manager has offered sustainable long-term investing for some years, with ESG analysis embedded in its investment process. CuriumEDM provides data management tooling to bring ESG data sources, both internal and external, together in a data modelling component that drives a master data management process and enhances controls used to validate and amend data elements within ESG data sets.

Stephen Grant, head of investment operations and quants at Martin Currie, says: “The range and diversity of data sets we use is growing all the time. We are constantly developing and innovating our analysis of ESG data and its integration into our investment process.  CuriumEDM allows us to put the right levels of process control on this data and also drives the quality of our regulatory reporting output.”

Mat King, head of implementations at Curium Data Systems, says CuriumEDM is about giving the business higher levels of confidence in its data and ensuring accuracy and consistency. “ESG,” he comments, “is a good example of where CuriumEDM can add value quickly.”
