Credit Suisse has hired Roger Lehman as managing director and head of Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities Research, responsible for research and analysis that will support the bank’s re-entry into CMBS origination as well as its secondary trading desk. He will report to Dale Westhoff, global head of Securitized Products Research, and will join the Credit Suisse on August 1.

“Roger brings a wealth of experience and expertise in real estate finance and securitization to Credit Suisse,” said Westhoff. “Hiring a seasoned veteran of his caliber demonstrates our commitment to building and industry-leading full-service CMBS franchise.”

Lehman is well-known as one of the top securitized products analysts on Wall Street, and has been among the top-ranked CMBS analysts for each of the past 12 years in the Institutional Investor All America Fixed Income Research Team survey. He joins Credit Suisse from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was most recently Co-Head of Structured Finance Research. He had been with Merrill Lynch since 1991 in a variety of mortgage trading and research positions. He holds an MBA in finance and accounting from the University of Chicago.
