NatWest Names Scott Marcar as Group Chief Information Officer

NatWest Group has announced that Scott Marcar will join its executive committee as group chief information officer from 5 September 2022, subject to regulatory approval, and reporting directly to CEO Alison Rose. Marcar joins from Deutsche Bank, where he was chief information officer for the investment bank.

Marcar has over 25 years of technology experience having led teams across functions including corporate and investment banking, risk, finance, financial crime, infrastructure, data, and architecture. He also held a number of senior roles in technology at NatWest between 2007 and 2014.

Broadridge Hires David Turmaine as UK Lead for Consulting Services

Broadridge has hired David Turmaine as UK practice lead for its consulting services business. He joins Broadridge from Capco, where he was executive director with responsibility for driving digital transformation in the financial services industry. Turmaine’s career also includes a management role at Accenture, where he was an industry SME for Accenture post-trade processing. Prior to that, he held a 12-year tenure at JP Morgan, during which his responsibilities included head of securities and prime brokerage operations.

Following the success of Broadridge’s consulting business in the US, Turmaine will be responsible for expanding the footprint of Broadridge’s post-trade and digital asset consultancy across the UK, Europe and APAC. The practice helps buy-side and sell-side firms improve operational efficiency by driving data-informed decision making, process optimization, and digital innovation and automation.

ACA Group Names ESG Veteran as European MD

The ACA Group has named former United Nations Principles for Responsible Investing (PRI) European director Marie Luchet as its new Managing Director of ESG. Luchet will lead the governance, risk and compliance adviser’s European operations. In her more-than 20 years working in ESG, Luchet also served as Head of Responsible Investment with ECOFI Investissements and as an ESG sell-side analyst with CIC Market Solutions.

More Names Added to Bring ISSB Team to 10

Four more members have been added to the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), the IFRS Foundation’s recently created body that’s been tasked with hammering out an international framework for ESG reporting. They are Richard Barker, of the University of Oxford Saïd Business School’s sustainable business initiatives; Verity Chegar of California State Teachers’ Retirement System; Bing Leng, Director in the Accounting Regulatory Department of the Chinese Ministry of Finance; and, Ndidi Nnoli-Edozien, former Group Chief Sustainability and Governance Officer at Dangote Industries. The new additions bring board membership to 10, with more expected to be announced soon.

Gresham Technologies Strengthens North America Sales Team

Gresham Technologies has named Rob McGowan as senior sales executive in North America as the company expands in the region following its June 2021 acquisition of Electra Information Systems. McGowan joined Gresham in the first quarter of this year and is based in the company’s New York office. He joined from Duco, and previously held sales roles at SmartStream Technologies and RegTek Solutions.

FINBOURNE Names Robert Byrne as CTO

FINBOURNE Technology, provider of the LUSID cloud-native, API-first investment data management platform, has appointed Robert Byrne as chief technology officer. The company says the appointment marks the next phase of growth for the SaaS scale-up, which now stands at over 140 employees globally, and coincides with FINBOURNE’s recent expansion into North America and Asia Pacific. With over 20 years’ experience in financial services, Byrne previously held positions at Barclays Capital, RBS and UBS Delta.

Broadridge Names Stephan Müller as Managing Director for Germany

Broadridge has appointed Stephan Müller as managing director for Germany. Based in Frankfurt, Müller will join Broadridge’s international leadership team and will be responsible for leading and growing Broadridge’s overall business in Germany across all solution lines in its global technology and operations portfolio, and its investor communication solutions. He will also manage Broadridge’s Payments-as-a-Service (PaaS) business and financial messaging services.

Müller joins Broadridge from Commerzbank where he held a succession of divisional board member roles including banking operations, CIO and, most recently, transaction banking. Previously at Dresdner Bank, he was CIO for corporate and private clients, and prior to that, global head of transaction banking and customer service.

Delta Capita Appoints Steven Hargreaves as Head of UK Consulting

Delta Capita, a capital markets consulting, managed services and technology provider, has appointed Steve Hargreaves as head of consulting, UK. The company’s mission is to reinvent the financial services value chain, with the role of the consulting business being to create long-term partnerships with financial services clients, design and deliver the change they need, and develop new businesses that will meet their needs for the future. Hargreaves brings more than 25 years of financial services experience to Delta Capita, including stints as CTO at TPICAP and managing director at HSBC.

KX Expands Global Product Strategy Team

KX has added Malcolm (aka Barry) Johnson and Charles Gregory to its product strategy team for financial services. Johnson takes the role of business development strategist and Gregory vice president of product management. Their remit is to further develop the KX technology roadmap to deliver against the evolving analytics needs of financial services organisations.

Johnson joins KX with more than 20 years of experience in financial services and software, and was most recently a consultant and analyst at BAE. Gregory has worked at numerous global banks in Europe and was most recently responsible for product management for Nasdaq Trade Surveillance.

Encompass Appoints Banking Industry Veteran Doris Honold to Board

Encompass, a provider of Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) software, has appointed banking industry veteran Doris Honold to its board. Honold has over 25 years of financial services experience, working in various executive roles across Los Angeles, Frankfurt, Singapore, Tokyo and London, where she is now based. Her career includes 12 years at Standard Chartered Bank, most recently as group COO and member of the executive committee. She is experienced in change management and digital transformation in large institutions and brings insight to Encompass into the challenges that many of its customers face within their own organisations.
