Eagle Lands Legacy Replacement Deal at Boutique Firm Trilogy

US-based Trilogy Global Advisors, a boutique emerging markets equities fund manager, is implementing technology from Eagle Investment Systems to help manage its portfolio.

The Eagle suite of products will enable Trilogy to retire its legacy accounting system. According to John Lehner, president of Eagle Investment Systems, there are a couple of reasons for Trilogy’s decision to replace its inhouse proprietary system. “The business is growing very rapidly and they wanted a system that was able to scale with that growth and handle increasing volumes of business,” he says. “They also need to be able to support a wide breadth of securities, and they were aware of their existing system’s inability to accommodate the full range of security types.”

There are three functional areas of the solution being deployed at Trilogy – data management, performance measurement and investment accounting, which was a key driver behind Trilogy’s decision. Trilogy will also be leveraging Eagle’s web distribution and reporting capabilities.

Lehner says at the core of Eagle’s offering is a data-centric approach, which enables clients to accommodate multiple data sources. With Eagle’s open architecture Trilogy will be able to incorporate new applications and de-couple legacy systems as the company continues to grow.

Trilogy will leverage the Eagle solution’s reporting capabilities to help generate accurate and timely information. As part of its reporting solution, Trilogy will utilise the Eagle Portal, a web-based delivery tool, to distribute reports to Trilogy’s investment professionals. Eagle’s professional services group will work with Trilogy to implement the Eagle suite.

Eagle is currently integrating Trilogy’s data sources into the front office including market data, reference data and security master type data. The next phase is to integrate customer and reconciliation data into the middle and back office. The integration is being rolled out in phases with different areas going live in increments of around 90 days. The installation will be completed in a period of eight months. Separately, Eagle has released V8.0 of its suite. Eagle V8.0 includes enhancements to various aspects of automation and data generation.US-based Trilogy Global Advisors, a boutique emerging markets equities fund manager, is implementing technology from Eagle Investment Systems to help manage its portfolio.
