Following more than six years as vice president of the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation’s (DTCC) Global Corporate Actions (GCA) business unit, earlier this year Brett Lancaster joined industry network operator Swift as its new managing director of Securities for the Americas region. In line with his work alongside Swift and XBRL US in the corporate actions space at the DTCC, Lancaster is now focused on supporting the work of Swift in the securities industry as a whole.

Lancaster reports to chief executive of the Americas and global head of Securities for Swift Chris Church. Swift has focused on several key areas within the securities industry to boost its approach to market, including securities matching services and corporate actions standardisation.

During his time at the DTCC, Lancaster founded and led the business operations of the DTCC Solutions subsidiary, which is focused on providing global corporate actions and reference data to the financial services industry. Most recently, he has been overseeing the vendor’s major system overhaul, which will eventually result in the replacement and rationalisation of around 60 legacy systems.

Prior to the DTCC, Lancaster worked as a manager then senior manager at consulting firm Accenture for nearly seven years in New York and London.
