Trillium Software Unveils Latest Version of Trillium Software System to Help Companies Achieve Data Certainty

Trillium Software, a business of Harte-Hanks, announced today its latest version of the Trillium Software System. This newly-released software platform provides an easy-to-navigate interface which supports the data lifecycle methodology that companies engage in to “Discover, Develop, Deploy and Manage” their information quality initiatives. Designed to visualise data issues, improve business rule validation and enhance data quality monitoring in fast-paced operational environments, the Trillium Software System can help business users and analysts, data stewards and information technology professionals collaborate to improve business decisions and outcomes through better, more accurate information. This release delivers the highest level of data certainty for optimising business processes, while mitigating the risk inherent within data sources that lack high quality information.

“When evaluating offerings in this (data quality) market, organisations must consider not only the breadth of functional capabilities relative to their requirements, but also the degree to which this functionality can be readily understood, managed and leveraged by non-IT resources, as well as how readily it can be embedded into business process workflows,” said Ted Friedman, vice president and distinguished analyst at Gartner. “In keeping with significant trends in data management, business roles such as data stewards will increasingly be responsible for managing the goals, rules, processes and metrics associated with data quality improvement initiatives.”

This latest version of the Trillium Software System is a single, consumable, and integrated solution for managing the complete lifecycle of data discovery and data quality across the enterprise. It supports extensive, complex and reusable business rules, applications and processes. The software helps organise projects by roles and responsibilities within a new intuitive environment for quickly creating, deploying and managing information quality initiatives – making it ideal for business people as well as information technology employees to work together to solve the most challenging data issues. By dramatically improving and verifying the critical data flowing through key business processes and transactions, organisations can optimise overall business performance and results.

Through Trillium Software’s methodology of DISCOVER, DEVELOP, DEPLOY and MANAGE, now embedded into the software’s user interface, customers can better manage their data, and clearly understand how data quality problems manifest and negatively impact business outcomes. Organisations DISCOVER and understand data as it exists within an enterprise, quantify conditions according to business policies, and create data standards, dictionaries and rules. Business users and IT alike can quickly DEVELOP and create automated processes to improve new and existing data using rule integration, improved country support, new process steps and global geocoding capabilities. Next, companies will DEPLOY and publish data processes as reusable services into the enterprise. And finally, users can realise significant improvements in data stewardship as they MANAGE and administer services while governing results over time and across business process changes.

“Customers have told us they are relying more and more on business people and analysts who run business-oriented programs in marketing, order processing, asset management and risk assessment to manage data and ensure it is fit-for-its true business purposes. Data quality and management is not just an IT function anymore, and has become a critical, strategic business discipline as companies depend on data for all aspects of their business results,” said Kevin W. McCarthy, chief technology officer at Trillium Software. “We have made significant enhancements to the Trillium Software System that can help business users and IT come together and collaborate in order to ensure the highest levels of data quality and data governance across every department of their enterprises.”

The solution includes a number of enhancements and capabilities to help organisations get into production quickly:

Intuitive, unified, graphical user interface and environment leverages Trillium Software’s twenty years of data quality expertise and a proven methodology that is embedded into the solution to enable business users and data stewards to ensure high quality data that meets their business needs. The interface is characterised by new role-based navigation bars that help users analyse data and create data processes.

Enhanced Reusable Business Rules extend flexibility of business rules to address data challenges at the attribute level and offer options for cleansing data and ensuring it complies with existing business policies. The software provides a more robust and complex capability to allow for identification and resolution of data issues related to standardisation, regulatory compliance and business process optimisation (BPO). Business rules created can be implemented across applications, projects and the enterprise.

Real-Time Deployment Enhancements add value to Trillium Software’s long-standing service oriented architecture (SOA) for more flexible deployment of data quality services. Specifically through ActiveEnterprise™ Resources, users have new capabilities to rapidly and efficiently perform User Acceptance Testing for ensuring data quality process results are satisfactory to the business. Now, business analysts can verify that the output from data quality processes comply with business requirements before moving into production.

Enhanced Reporting, Charts, & Graphics are intuitive, interactive and graphical representations of data which make it easier for business and data stewards to understand and quantify the impact of their data conditions for their business. Data stewards can better prioritise activities and actions that improve their data, helping streamline resources and reduce costs. Ten new interactive summary reports display profiling results. These views enable users to drill down into detail results from charts and graphs to better analyse solutions to data challenges.

Integrated global geocoding. Through the marriage of Global Locator – Trillium Software’s geocoding information solution that supports 240 countries – with the Trillium Software System, organisations such as insurance firms, supply chain and logistics companies, telecommunications businesses and others can more clearly identify business risks related to geospatial data and location intelligence.
