SimCorp, currently the subject of an all-cash offer from Deutsche Börse, has integrated Clarity AI’s sustainability datasets into its investment management platform providing institutional investors with access to AI-powered datasets that will help them align with EU sustainable finance regulations and execute impact investing strategies.

Clarity AI uses machine learning and big data to deliver environmental and social insights to investors, organisations, and consumers. The company’s platform analyses more than 70,000 companies, 420,000 funds, 201 countries, and 199 local governments and through integration delivers data directly into clients’ workflows. It also includes datasets pertaining to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework that has become a tool to report on impact, develop engagement strategies, and create revenue opportunities through thematic funds.

The integration of Clarity AI data with SimCorp’s platform makes sustainability analysis an integral part of the investment process. “Our mutual clients benefit from advanced process automation, rigorous control checks of their sustainability-related policies, and access to ESG analytics,” says Carl Balslev Clausen, director and head of ESG product management at SimCorp.

Looking at impact assessment, he adds: “Institutional investors want to accurately measure and oversee the societal effects of their investments. Aligning with the SDGs has become the norm.  Clarity AI’s SDG dataset brings a high level of completeness. Integrated into our ESG and sustainable investment solutions it gives clients access to top-quality data, further enhancing investment decisions.”
