Advent Software, a leading provider of software and services for the global investment management industry, and Thomson Reuters today announced that Heptagon Capital, a specialized investment management firm, can access pricing and reference data from Thomson Reuters via Advent’s new market data interface. This critical and timely information will enable Heptagon Capital to enhance its portfolio management, administration and valuation functions, and boost its client reporting capabilities.

Advent Portfolio Exchange (APX) provides clients in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia direct and seamless access to DataScope Select, Thomson Reuters strategic data delivery platform for non-streaming content. This includes in-depth and cross-asset class pricing and reference data, such as transparent evaluated prices.

“Directly delivering Thomson Reuters data using APX ensures we have accurate pricing and reference data for our client reporting and fund valuations,” said Robert Rosenberg, chief operating officer at London-based Heptagon Capital. “Integrating the data we need into our existing workflows means not having to spend time switching between applications and downloading external data. The solution helps us run our operations even more smoothly and ensure our client reporting and fund operations are of the highest standard.”

“Investment management firms today want direct, instant access to high quality global pricing and reference data that drives investment decisions. By delivering this through industry leading portfolio analytics and client reporting solutions, we make it even easier for financial firms to deliver value to their clients,” added Gerry Buggy, global head of enterprise content at Thomson Reuters.

“Our partnership with Thomson Reuters has enabled us to build on the core capabilities of our investment management solution,” said Martin Engdal, director of product marketing, Advent Software EMEA. “The integration we have built between APX and Thomson Reuters DataScope Select will enable Advent clients in EMEA to manage their data requirements in a more timely and flexible way than ever before.”

London-based Heptagon Capital offers investment management and advisory expertise across multiple asset classes to the high-net-worth and institutional investors, and implemented Advent’s investment management solution in 2010.
