Following the departure of Markus Heer, Deutsche Börse has appointed Stefan Sachsenweger as head of back office. Heer, who has worked for Deutsche Börse for the last four years, will now join German financial information service provider WM Datenservice as managing director.

Prior to his appointment as head of back office, Sachsenweger worked in the product design front office data and analytics division of Deutsche Börse. Before he joined Deutsche Börse Group in March 2001, he worked for nearly four years as a consultant for two different management consultancies.

Within Deutsche Börse Group, Sachsenweger has worked in the market data environment and, since the end of 2004, he has been general manager for the market data vendor Infobolsa Deutschland.

Sachsenweger feels this experience in the market data business, combined with his technical background as an industrial engineer, is a perfect fit for the challenges of the back office data and analytics business.

“The main goal for the coming years is to focus on new value added products and services that will be also used in the middle office area,” explains Sachsenweger of his strategic plans for the division so far.
