Aberdeen Asset Management Picks Cadis EDM as Global Data Hub

Aberdeen Asset Management has implemented the Cadis EDM Suite from enterprise data management (EDM) system provider Cadis. The fund manager hopes that the solution will grant it greater operational control over its data by improving operational efficiency and reducing costs.

Aberdeen indicates that it selected Cadis after a rigorous selection process due to the solution’s ability to provide a data control layer between the fund manager and its market data vendors and outsourced back office providers. Richard Large, global head of front office technology at Aberdeen, reckons the solution was the clear winner during its selection process: “After a rigorous best of breed search and selection process, Cadis clearly emerged as a highly effective solution which would enable us to construct our goal of a global data hub, enabling us to source, consolidate, validate and distribute our investment management data worldwide.”

The firm hopes that the Cadis EDM Suite and the vendor’s rapid implementation methodology will allow it to quickly integrate multiple data sources and utilise the information in its front office systems.

Large explains the benefits the firm has seen thus far: “It feeds our single global trading platform and data warehouse environments and allows us to maintain control over our data which is sourced from a variety of vendors and third party administrators.”
