BCC, Push and Baker Team Up to Offer Cloud Market Data Solution

The ongoing buzz around cloud-delivered market data continues with news of a partnership between BCC Group, Push Technology and Baker Technology. The collaboration is aimed at offering an end-to-end solution to optimize, control and accelerate market data delivery in cloud environments.

The initiative brings together three solution providers specialising in distribution, integration and presentation of dynamically delivered data. Push Technology builds real-time data streaming and messaging solutions, sometimes in partnership with London-based Baker Technology, a specialist user interface software; the two recently forged a strategic partnership to develop single-dealer platforms and exchange trading systems. Third partner BCC Group is a Frankfurt-based pioneer of cloud-delivered market data.

The collaboration is the latest in a number of initiatives aimed at make front office capabilities, like market data, available through the cloud. This topic, and the broader outlook for cloud in the trading and investment space, was discussed on a recent TradingTech Insight webinar, available for download here.

The cloud initiative is aimed at addressing industry concerns about the operational costs involved in adding cloud as an element of firms’ market data integration infrastructure. The partners say the idea is to provide “a comprehensive solution for secure real-time market data in the cloud – driving new revenue opportunities and saving costs.”

The solution combines contributions from the three partners. Data is sourced from BCC Group’s cloud-native ONE Platform, which enables the high-speed transmission of bank-owned, permission-controlled market data. This data is delivered via the ONE API to Push Technology’s Diffusion, an integration platform for streaming data that handles data transformation, enrichment and distribution. Finally, Baker provides user interface design and implementation, with market data abstracted behind the Diffusion API to accelerate time to market for clients.
