The IMS Group (IMS), the leading regulation and compliance consultant, has hired Kim Ellis, a former senior compliance monitoring manager from Gartmore, to its Projects team.

In her new role at IMS, Kim will specialise in wholesale financial markets compliance, and will cover conduct of business, client assets, collective investment schemes and market conduct.

At Gartmore Kim conducted comprehensive and independent compliance and risk monitoring across the company.

IMS has recently doubled the size of its Regulatory Transactions team, which deals with FSA applications, variations of permission, change of control and change of legal status amongst other things, based on the strong demand for those services.

IMS has seen a year of rapid growth, including the acquisition of compliance consultancy MMS Regulatory Solutions in February, which brought further regulatory expertise to IMS. The acquisition, and new hires, have prompted the firm to move to larger offices, on Jermyn Street, London, to accomodate the growing team.

Michel van Leeuwen, group chief executive, IMS, says: “We are on a fast growth trajectory and are always seeking high calibre individuals to strengthen our existing talent. Kim’s experience will make her a valuable addition to the Projects team. ”
