Sophis Expands in Asia with Beijing Office and Key Hires

Sophis, a leading provider of cross-asset, front-to-back portfolio and risk management solutions, today announced the establishment of its first office in China and the appointment of two new Sales Directors in Asia, as well as the continued expansion of its Hong Kong office.

New Office in Beijing
Sophis has opened an office in Beijing, located in the New Poly Plaza, Central Business District, Beijing. Sophis will grow its team of sales and consulting professionals in Beijing to service financial institutions in China, offering its key proprietary products, RISQUE, aimed at the sell-side, and VALUE aimed at the buy-side.

New Appointments in Asia
Vincent Lo has been appointed Sales Director for Greater China. He will operate both in Hong Kong and from the new office in Beijing and reports to COO for Asia Pacific, Corinne Grillet. Vincent joins with several years of derivatives and financial information technology experience. He comes directly from Reuters Group plc where he was Head of Fixed Income, Sales and Trading in the UK, responsible for the strategy, product development, sales, marketing and management of data, terminal, electronic trading and new products. Prior to this he worked at Lombard Risk Systems, Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank. Vincent holds an MBA from the University of Oxford and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Gerry Fernandez has been appointed Business Development Director for South East Asia. He is based in Singapore and also reports to Corinne Grillet. He brings with him 20 years of sales and marketing experience in technology solutions. Before joining Sophis he was Business Development Director at Cognotec.

The Hong Kong office, in IFC2, has recently doubled in floor space to accommodate a growing team of professional consultants, sales executives and technology personnel.
