Push Technology Promotes Grethe Brown to CEO
Grethe Brown, who joined real-time data streaming and messaging solutions provider Push Technology as COO earlier this year, has been named by the company as its new CEO. Brown has extensive experience in driving growth across operations, R&D, and commercial management for software companies in a variety of industries including Telco, FinTech and Food & Beverage. She holds a BSc in mathematics from the University of Linkoping in Sweden, and an MBA from the University of Surrey.
More Names Added to Bring ISSB Team to 10
Four more members have been added to the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), the IFRS Foundation’s recently created body that’s been tasked with hammering out an international framework for ESG reporting. They are Richard Barker, of the University of Oxford Saïd Business School’s sustainable business initiatives; Verity Chegar of California State Teachers’ Retirement System; Bing Leng, Director in the Accounting Regulatory Department of the Chinese Ministry of Finance; and, Ndidi Nnoli-Edozien, former Group Chief Sustainability and Governance Officer at Dangote Industries. The new additions bring board membership to 10, with more expected to be announced soon.
Northern Trust Appoints Senior Execs to Head Front Office Solutions and Global Foreign Exchange Businesses
Northern Trust has appointed John Turney as Global Head of Front Office Solutions and Marisa Kurk as Head of Global Foreign Exchange (GFX). Turney, who has led GFX since 2018, takes the helm of the Front Office Solutions business as it expands to new markets across the globe, and will report to Melanie Pickett, Head of Asset Owners, Americas. Kurk, with nearly two decades of institutional foreign exchange experience, joined Northern Trust as Chief Operating Officer for GFX in 2019 and was named Chief Strategy Officer in 2021. As Head of GFX, she will report to Guy Gibson, Global Head of Capital Markets.
smartTrade Appoints Michael Henssler as President and Chief Operating Officer
Multi-asset electronic trading platforms provider smartTrade has appointed Michael Henssler as its President and Chief Operating Officer. Based in London, Henssler will be responsible for the running of all smartTrade’s field operations including sales, pre-sales and client engagement.
Henssler brings more than 20 years of experience in enterprise software and capital markets, most recently as General Manager of Finastra’s Treasury, Capital Markets and Risk (TCM) business unit. Prior to this his roles at Finastra included engineering support, implementation & consulting, pre-sales, business development and product management for platforms including Kondor, Sophis, Summit and Opics.
Gresham Technologies Strengthens North America Sales Team
Gresham Technologies has named Rob McGowan as senior sales executive in North America as the company expands in the region following its June 2021 acquisition of Electra Information Systems. McGowan joined Gresham in the first quarter of this year and is based in the company’s New York office. He joined from Duco, and previously held sales roles at SmartStream Technologies and RegTek Solutions.
FINBOURNE Names Robert Byrne as CTO
FINBOURNE Technology, provider of the LUSID cloud-native, API-first investment data management platform, has appointed Robert Byrne as chief technology officer. The company says the appointment marks the next phase of growth for the SaaS scale-up, which now stands at over 140 employees globally, and coincides with FINBOURNE’s recent expansion into North America and Asia Pacific. With over 20 years’ experience in financial services, Byrne previously held positions at Barclays Capital, RBS and UBS Delta.
Eventus Names Scott Leader as Managing Director, APAC
Trade surveillance and market risk solutions vendor Eventus has hired Scott B. Leader as Managing Director, APAC, to head the company’s sales efforts in the Asia-Pacific region. Based in Sydney and reporting to Eventus’ Global Head of Sales Scott Schroeder, Leader has nearly three decades of financial services, sales and management experience throughout APAC and Europe.
Since 2020, he has served as Executive Director, Large Enterprise for Workday, Inc. a provider of enterprise cloud applications for finance and human resources. He has also held senior-level roles at the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), NYSE Euronext, Bloomberg LP, SunGard Financial Systems (now FIS), Misys and Pegasystems.
TP ICAP Hires Mark Govoni as CEO of Agency Execution Division
TP ICAP, the market infrastructure and information provider, has appointed Mark Govoni as CEO of its Agency Execution division. Based in New York, Govoni replaces John Ruskin who, having successfully led the integration of Liquidnet into the TP ICAP Group, will step away from the business at the end of June.
Govoni joins TP ICAP from Instinet, where he served most recently as President of US Brokerage, having joined the firm in 2012. Prior to Instinet, Govoni was a Managing Director at Nomura Securities International, responsible for US Execution Services. Earlier in his career, he held senior Program and Electronic Sales trading positions at Merrill Lynch.
ADAM Appoints Eventus’ Mike Castiglione as Chair of New National Security Working Group
ADAM (The Association for Digital Asset Markets) has appointed Mike Castiglione, Director of Regulatory Affairs, Digital Assets at Eventus, as Chair of its new National Security Working Group. Castiglione, a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officer, brings broad national security experience to the role.
Building on its previous efforts in the national security space, ADAM created the working group to serve as a bridge between the public and private sectors, by acting as a go-to resource for the executive and legislative branches to interface with industry experts on blockchain national security issues.
Trading Technologies Appoints Nick Garrow as EVP Multi-Asset & Buy Side
Trading software, infrastructure and data solutions vendor Trading Technologies, has appointed London-based industry veteran Nick Garrow in the newly created position of EVP Multi-Asset & Buy Side. Garrow has more than 20 years of senior management experience in capital markets and prime brokerage, most recently at Societe Generale (SG) Prime Services in London, where he was Global Head of IT and Operations.
Garrow will report to TT CEO Keith Todd and will join the firm’s leadership team, leading TT’s expansion into new asset classes beyond exchange-traded derivatives, and a range of new services for the buy-side community, with the firm’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) TT platform as the foundation.
