The time for talking is over. The time for action is now.
A bit melodramatic, perhaps, but given last month’s official launch of the global legal entity identifier (LEI) standard, practitioners are rolling up their sleeves and getting on with figuring out how to incorporate the new identifier into their customer and entity data infrastructures.
A-Team recently conducted a survey to top-tier sell-side firms and found a substantial number in the midst of multi-year projects to put their entity data houses in order. In several cases, multi-year translated into multi-million – whether dollar, euro or pound sterling – in terms of cost. And in a good many instances, one of the underlying aims was to prepare the firm for full implementation of the emerging LEI.
