Talend Becomes a Sponsor of The Apache Software Foundation

Talend, a global open source software leader, today announced that it has become an Apache Software Foundation (ASF) sponsor, furthering its commitment to open source. Talend’s sponsorship of the non-profit, volunteer-run foundation will help aid organisational, legal and financial support for a broad range of Apache licensed projects. Current sponsors of The Apache Software Foundation include Google, Yahoo! and Facebook.

Through a collaborative development process, Apache projects deliver freely available software that attracts large communities of users. The pragmatic Apache License makes it easy for all users – both commercial and individual – to deploy Apache products.

“The Apache Software Foundation has made tremendous contributions to the open source ecosystem since 1999,” said Fabrice Bonan, co-founder and chief operating officer, Talend. “Apache CXF and other projects, since their earliest days, have relied on Apache infrastructure and governance. The entire community benefits tremendously from ASF support and Talend is pleased and proud to join ASF as a sponsor. Along with ASF, we believe that the open source model provides tremendous value to users and greatly facilitates the adoption of cutting-edge technologies by organisations of all sizes. Talend is wholly committed to continuing to provide enterprise-class open source solutions to the community.”

As a leading provider of Apache-powered software, members of the Talend team actively contribute to the CXF project as well as other related Apache projects including Camel, Karaf, ActiveMQ, Santuario, Hadoop, ACE and others. Talend Service Factory and Talend Integration Factory – powered by Apache CXF and Apache Camel respectively – are 100% open source, use the Apache license, and are freely available for download. Talend ESB combines these Apache projects to deliver a cost-effective and easy-to-use way to achieve enterprise-class integration.
