Snowflake has partnered Pure Storage to develop a solution that will increase data accessibility and control for customers with on-premise data. The solution will use Pure’s FlashBlade high performance unified file and object platform to allow analyses of multiple data sources on the platform with the Snowflake data cloud while keeping data local. A public preview of the solution will be available in the second half of 2022.

Snowflake senior vice president of product, Christian Kleinerman, says: “This partnership will allow organisations to gain more value from their on-premise data while leveraging Snowflake’s analytical and governance capabilities. The joint solution will help organisations mobilise data by eliminating silos and bringing data together to unlock more value and insights for customers.”

Rob Lee, chief technology officer at Pure Storage, comments: “Our collaboration with Snowflake to increase data accessibility allows us to meet customers where they are in their journey to the cloud.”

FlashBlade is a unified all-flash storage platform that delivers cloud-like agility, flexibility, and consumption choices and controls for on-premise data, as well as high performance throughput and controls for in-cloud data. Its use cases include analytics, AI, high-performance computing, and data protection.
