Quantitative Brokers Adds Octane and The Roll Best Execution Algos

Subscribe to our newsletter

Quantitative Brokers (QB), an algorithm and analytics provider for the futures and US cash treasury markets, has introduced Octane and The Roll, algorithms designed to optimise urgent completion and calendar spreads respectively. These algos join QB’s existing suite of best execution algos – Bolt, Strobe, Legger and Closer – and are supported by QB’s Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) service.

Octane is a liquidity seeking strategy for execution when urgent completion is the priority. It identifies and acts on liquidity opportunities, and is recommended for urgent orders that are expected to have strong short-term alpha.

The Roll, QB’s first algo for executing futures rolls (or listed calendar spreads), is built to execute spreads of any size. It uses some aspects of voice execution, scale, consistency and analytics that are embedded in previously built QB best ex algos.

Alastair Hawker, global head of sales at QB, says: “With Octane, we bring an automated and intelligent approach to high urgency situations, enabling our clients to use a different approach that they do not have available to them today. The Roll and its accompanying analytics, makes it more compelling than ever for clients to execute rolls electronically.”
