Who said that securities identifiers are boring? With A-list celebrities mingling at an event co-hosted by the London Stock Exchange’s Sedol group (with its Proquote unit) we thought that perhaps securities identifiers had hit the big time. Then we realised that the exchange’s choice of location for its information services party – Madame Tussauds – might have something to do with it. Nevertheless it was amusing to see the exchange’s chief information officer David Lester making his welcome speech on a sofa with his arm around Madonna. And a cluster of LSE clients spent a long time hanging around Kylie, who was showing off her best asset on top of a piano. Reference Data Review is looking forward to seeing how the execs in the Sedol group plan to top it next year…
