The IMS Group (IMS), a provider of global regulatory compliance consulting and integrated business support to the asset management and securities industry, has further bolstered its consultancy offering with the hires of Jonathan Mott, Oksana Selezneva and Claire Carpenter.

IMS has seen a year of rapid growth, including the acquisition of compliance consultancy MMS in February, which brought further regulatory expertise to IMS. The acquisition, and new hires have prompted the firm to move to larger offices, on Jermyn Street, London, to accomodate the growing team.

Jonathan Mott joins as a consultant from UK regulator the Financial Services Authority (FSA). During his time at the FSA, he was charged with the supervision of firms within the asset management sector, with responsibility for both wholesale and retail firms. Jonathan has over seven years’ experience in financial regulation and during time spent as a regulator, has acquired an in-depth technical knowledge of the FSA’s regulatory framework.

In his new role, Jonathan works with a range of firms in the asset management and securities industry, including hedge fund managers, private equity firms and fund managers.

Oksana Selezneva and Claire Carpenter join the firm as compliance consultants.

Prior to joining IMS, Oksana spent five years as a compliance officer and deputy money laundering reporting officer for the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, where she covered equities, fixed income sales and trading and corporate finance areas. In her new role at IMS, she advises a broad client portfolio including private equity, hedge funds, corporate finance firms and brokerages.

Oksana is also involved with the Securities and Exchange Commission regulation overhaul expert group, leveraging off her extensive compliance experience with North American financial institutions.

Claire previously worked in the financial services industry for five years, four of which were spent in regulation and compliance. In her new role at IMS, she manages a variety of regulated firms including private equity, fund of funds and Ucits managers.

Michel van Leeuwen, group chief executive IMS, said: “The hires of Jonathan, Oksana and Claire help to bolster IMS’ consultancy offering. Their valuable expertise will drive growth at the firm and further improve the service we offer to our clients. IMS is going through a period of rapid expansion and we continue to have high growth ambitions with further hires planned.”
