Deutsche Börse to Distribute Interactive Data’s Bond Evaluations

Interactive Data has widened the distribution of its bond evaluations through a deal with Deutsche Börse, which will be making the data available to financial institutions in Germany.

Through the use of Interactive Data’s Pricing and Reference Data bond evaluations, Deutsche Börse’s clients will now be able to request evaluations for specific securities in their portfolios via its securities information service for the back office, the Wertpapier Service System (WSS) File Service. Interactive Data will then return the evaluations to clients through Deutsche Börse’s WSS.

Markus Heer, head of section back office data and analytics at Deutsche Börse, explains: “We have had a working relationship with Interactive Data for a number of years and through mutual discussions, we identified a demand in the German market for bond evaluations. We conducted discussions with our clients on the matter at the start of 2007 and we decided that Interactive Data’s offering was the best option.” Heer indicates that the client feedback so far has been very positive and it has been of benefit to Interactive Data’s customers by providing better integration in the back office.

Roger Sargeant, managing director, Interactive Data (Europe), adds: “With increased regulation and the volatility in the financial markets, firms are focused on the need to have a firm grasp on the value of their holdings – especially thinly traded fixed income securities.”

Interactive Data offers daily evaluations for approximately 2.5 million fixed income and international equity issues and more than 5000 financial institutions worldwide subscribe to its bond evaluations. The evaluations include corporates, high yields, governments and agencies, securitised debt issues, ABS, CMBS and CMOs, US municipal securities, hybrid securities and money market securities.
