Avox Adds Web-Based APIs to Speed Up Access to Legal Entity Data

Avox has added web services to the channels it offers for customers to access its legal entity reference data. The services are based on application programming interfaces (APIs) that are designed to support fast access to entity data. The APIs also allow customers to pull Avox content directly into in-house applications or into enterprise data management (EDM) solutions provided by vendors that have partnered with the data provider.

Avox already offers access to entity data in its database of over 1.7 million entities through a web portal and provides flat files for end-of-day delivery. It has added web services to allow customers to access and manage data on entities of interest in a matter of seconds. Data can also be delivered on a request and response basis, and the company has added the capability for customers to request the sourcing of data on new legal entities in over 180 countries.

Mark Davies, managing director at Avox, describes the web services as an efficiency play for customers and explains: “We recognise that our customers require high standards of data accuracy and completeness, and now, more than ever, the timeliness of updates is critical. This release is a step to help our clients achieve their aim of straight through processing in the sourcing and ongoing maintenance of legal entity data.”

The Avox APIs are available immediately and are being tested by customers and EDM partners that are due to be named shortly. Davies says Avox intends to continue adding entity data to its entity data service and will ensure that the data is consistent and easily accessible using both the new and existing channels. Looking forward, he says Avox is starting to explore the checks and balances of customer onboarding from a data production perspective.
